Girls tennis: Methacton's Liang/Nouaime earn silver in PIAA doubles championship

HERSHEY – Methacton’s dynamic duo of freshman Hana Nouaime and sophomore Alice Liang captured second place in the PIAA Class 3A Doubles Championship Saturday at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Nouaime and Liang, the District One champions, were unable to sustain their strong start in the championship match, falling in three sets to Peters Township’s Kat Wang and Marra Bruce 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, the District 7 reps, after taking the opening set.
The Warriors double team had reached the final with a 6-0, 6-0 demolition of State College’s Quiana Guo and Catelyn Janac, the District 6 champions, earlier Saturday in the semifinals. Nouaime and Liang also dominated in the quarterfinals of the tournament, ousting Clare Haydan and Jordan Granay of Cardinal O’Hara 6-0, 6-0.
