Softball: Spring-Ford places 5 on all-state team

ROYERSFORD - District One and Pioneer Athletic Conference champion Spring-Ford placed five players on the 2021 Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association Class 6A All-State team announced Tuesday.

Earning first-team all-state honors for the Rams were junior pitcher Jules Scogna, senior shortstop Bri Peck and junior outfielder Lexi Wescott, while second baseman Morgan Lester and senior outfielder Noelle Reid were second-team honorees.

Spring-Ford, which posted 21 straight wins to open the season before suffering a 5-3, season-ending loss to eventual state runnerup Haverford in the PIAA Class 6A quarterfinals, tied District 7 champion Bethel Park for the most all-state selections.

Mady Volpe of state champion North Penn was named the Class 6A Player of the Year.
